April 2023

I will be presenting “Lean Where You Least Expect It” along with Manny Veloso at the ASQ World Conference on Quality and Improvement taking place in Philadelphia on May 8.  Manny and I will be discussing Personal Lean Habits at Home, at Work and in the World.  I look forward to presenting at this international conference on meeting my Quality Improvement colleagues from around the US and world.

March 2023

I presented a webinar to the ASQ Lean Enterprise Division titled Lean Safety Programs that Pay Dividends.  All too often Safety programs are considered to be costs to be minimized by the organization.  In this webinar, I talked about how Safety programs are an integral part of a good Lean program and can work to eliminate injuries to employees, which are expensive for everyone.  A video of the webinar is available on ASQ LED’s Youtube channel.  Click here to watch the webinar.

January 2023

I’m happy to share that I’ve obtained a new certification: Risk Management Specialized Credential from ASQ – World Headquarters.  I was also one of 14 Subject Matter Experts who contributed to the Risk Management Specialized Credential course content and editing. It was good to refresh my learning on risk management tools and skills that apply with my work at companies in leaner operations and employee health and safety. Attempting to reduce risk applies to so many areas of the workplace as well as everyday life outside of work.

March 2021

Webinars: I have 4 webinars scheduled for March covering 4 different topics with different ASQ groups. March 9 – Kata for the Real World for ASQ Madison. March 14 – Lean Where You Least Expect It – Part Two for ASQ South Jersey. March 21 – The Occasional series – a discussion of quality topics for ASQ Lean Enterprise Division. March 22 – Cracking the Project Code for ASQ Charleston. I am conducting each of these webinars with Manny Veloso. We enjoy talking about how to engage with employees to make quality and operational improvements in different businesses.

June 2020

Webinars: I conducted 2 webinars in June. On June 9, I co-lead a webinar on Introduction to Transactional Office Lean for Continuous Improvement to the ASQ South Jersey chapter. On June 10 I lead a webinar on Safety Lean – Can we make it Leaner & Safer to the ASQ Lean Enterprise Division where I explored practical linkages and approaches to apply and integrate quality and lean principles in the effort to improve employee safety. It was a pleasure engaging with local and national quality practitioners and leaders.

Covid-19 and traditional safety practices: Companies around the world continue to learn how to operate safely in a world where everyone is worried about Covid-19. Employees and companies are both worried about employee safety in a new way and getting used to following strict guidelines. How is your company taking advantage of the safety awareness and discipline in an area or employee health to try to carry the same discipline into more traditional areas of safety practices? I look forward to having that conversation with my clients to find ways to advance the overall safety practices in their companies.

May 2020

Earlier this year I became an OSHA-authorized trainer for OSHA 10 and 30 hour General Industry classes. I recently taught 2 OSHA 10 hour classes, one with 15 students for a local manufacturing company and one teaching 5 high school students. It was great working with a company educating & involving their employees to make the workplace safer. It was fun working with high school students helping them learn job and life skills that make them an asset for future employers.
The safety knowledge gained in these classes helps directly in the workplace and also helps raise the safety awareness of the students for home and their volunteer settings. I look forward to engaging with my next class and helping the students enhance their safety knowledge.
Please let me know if you have interest in running a class targeted to your work site.
